Making a call is worth more than a text. WhatsApp is finally introducing the voice and video call on its desktop application.
WhatsApp noticed that there was a surge in the voice and video callings last year and WhatsApp had recorded 1.4billion calls in a single day during last new year eve. To relief the countless people sitting in front of their computers to reach their phone every time their WhatsApp rang, WhatsApp providing you this long awaited function.
“With so many people still apart from their loved ones, and adjusting to new ways of working, we want conversations on WhatsApp to feel as close to in-person as possible, regardless of where you are in the world or the tech you’re using,” WhatsApp added.
With a webcam and microphone attached to your computers, you can answer the call through the desktop app and it gives you the opportunity to see your family and loved ones clearly on a bigger canvas.
WhatsApp also made it more flexible where you can adjust the view between portrait and landscape. You are able to freely adjust the size of the window on your computer screen and it is always set on top of other applications so that so you never lose your video chats in a browser tab or stack of open windows.
WhatsApp added that they are starting off with calls on desktop app and is committed to provide a reliable and high quality service. They will be expanding this feature to include group voice and video calls in the future.
