The validity period of the AirAsia credit has been extended to 3 years

AirAsia customers who convert their flights to a Credit Account, can now use it for a longer period. AirAsia has now announced that they have extended the validity period of the Credit Account to three years (36 months) from the date the credit is granted and it is done automatically.

This 3 -year credit validity period is given only to customers who have a valid credit account credited before 30 June 2021.

However, this extended period is only valid for online bookings made through the Airasia.com portal or the Airasia Super App. For group bookings or those made through a travel agent, users can refer to their respective booking agents for more information.

This extension is seen as giving space to customers, who are still unable to use flight services due to the travel restrictions of the Movement Control Order (PKP) in Malaysia, who still do not know when it will end. It also prevents cash outflows from Airasia, if customers want to claim a cash refund from a credit that will expire.

Airasia Group Chief Customer Happiness Officer Adam Geneave said: “We always put the needs of our guests first and understand that their travel plans may have changed according to current circumstances. Therefore, we are pleased to extend the validity period of the Credit Account to three years while offering them the flexibility to make future bookings at any time, for any of their preferred destinations and flights operated by AirAsia including during peak hours. This Credit Account can also be used to pay for baggage allowance, seat selection, in -flight meal reservations, insurance, taxes and government fees as well as other optional services. In addition, this Credit Account is also not limited to guests who made the original booking and can be used to pay for other guests ’flights.

“We would like to thank all our guests who have chosen this Credit Account which offers more flexibility for their future travel and we look forward to welcoming our guests when travel restrictions are lifted.”

AirAsia would also like to advise guests who will be making important trips to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the government, check all travel requirements and practice a high level of personal hygiene at all times. AirAsia will continue to monitor the current situation and reserves the right to announce further policies based on the latest developments.
