Sister Of 19YO Hit-And-Run Victim In Subang Jaya Urges Public To Channel Information To Police

On Thursday (13 January), residents in Subang Jaya, Selangor were shocked after they found a dead body of a young man lying on the side of the road late at night.

His friends and family first put an alert on social media, hoping to find more information on his sudden death.

However, the autopsy results showed that the 19-year-old was a victim of a road traffic accident, where the driver is believed to be driving recklessly.

In a statement by Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Abd Khalid Othman, the post-mortem report obtained from Shah Alam Hospital identified the cause of death as “blunt trauma to the head consistent with road traffic incident”.

The report said the victim was found to have bruises around his head and back.

However, none of his belongings were taken away from him, nor was there any traces of a vehicle accident in the area.

Hence, the police suspect that he may have been fatally injured at another location before being transported and left in Subang Jaya.

Abd Khalid said the case has been classified under Sect 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

If convicted under this act, one could face a jail term of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years and a fine not less than RM5,000 and not more than RM20,000.

The police urge eyewitnesses or anyone who has additional information of the incident to contact the police at 03-5621 0343 or directly to Investigation Officer Insp Abdul Naseer Peping at 012-286 3875.

Meanwhile, the sister of the victim is on the lookout for the mysterious vehicle that took her brother’s life. On her Instagram, she shared that her brother was found dead on Jalan Subang Utama, SS14 on 12 January 2022, 11 p.m.

“Until now, we have no clue what happened to him. We urge witnesses to come forward to the Subang Jaya Police Station.” she said.
