Police released water at the Klang Gate Dam in stages

Ampang Jaya District Police is preparing to face all possibilities following the release of water from the Klang Gate Dam, Hulu Kelang which is reported to have passed the danger level.

To date, as much as 25% of the water in the dam has been released in stages.

According to Ampang Jaya District Police Chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak, his party has a strength of five officers and 32 members from Melawati Police Station, Hulu Kelang Police Station, Ampang Police Station and Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD).

“All officers and members will be involved in facing any eventuality, especially in Taman Melawati and nearby areas,” he said.

He said the first process of water release was done at 11.50 pm.

“As a result, I ask the public not to panic and the implementation of the dam water release process is carried out carefully according to the prescribed procedures,” he said.

According to him, all officers and members will be immediately deployed at any time for assistance to the public, especially residents in the Ampang Jaya IPD administrative area in the event of an untoward incident.

“I would like to emphasize that the life and safety of yourself and your family is our priority over important documents and property that may be damaged as a result of the disaster,” he said.
