PDRM will use Drones to monitor SOP compliance during Raya Festivities

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has just announced that they will be using drones to monitor the SOP compliance of citizens during the Aidilfitri celebrations while the Movement Control Order (MCO) is in effect.

Meanwhile, for high-rise residential areas, PDRM will check on the visitors’ logs at the premises.

M V Sri Kumar said that the public are welcomed to report any SOP violation during the Aidilfitri festivities that happen in their residential areas to the police. In addition to that, there will be no exemptions at police roadblocks and those without completed documents will not be allowed to cross states or districts.

According to the latest SOP that was announced by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, house visits and grave cleaning during Hari Raya is prohibited.

M V Sri Kumar added that anyone found violating the SOP will be issued compounds. However, he assured that actions taken by the police are not meant to pressure the public but to enforce existing rules and regulations.

Even though this festive season may not be as crowded as the previous years, it will be much merrier in the future, if we all comply to the SOPs and get rid of Covid-19.
