The durian season is around the corner and durian vendors had started setting up their stalls. Nonetheless, the Perak Police Chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid reminded fellow Malaysians to follow the SOPs of the Phase 1 (previously known as FMCO) and not gather in groups to indulge in the king of fruits.
According to Harian Metro, Mior said that durian vendors are allowed to operate during the Phase 1 but any form of gathering are still not allowed, and this meant that the ‘durian feast party’ are not allowed too.
“According to the SOP, it is not allowed. Crossing states and districts borders are not allowed, let alone having a durian festival. No matter what the festival, it is not allowed.” he said.
Mior added “I would like to advice all parties that during this MCO 3.0 period, please refrain from doing any activities that are against the set SOPs whether in an official or unofficial event.”
Meanwhile, he confirmed that farmers are allowed to sell durian and the customers may only purchase them and take away. A durian cluster is not Malaysians wanted during the pandemic.
