Netizens are fuming on tiger being used for baby gender reveal in Dubai

The video and pictures go on to show the tiger faced with some balloons that are filled with mist, something that was used to reveal the gender of a baby.

The tiger leaps and pops one of the balloons with its paws to send pink mist flying in the air to reveal the baby.

The use of wild animals as ‘showpieces’ at public events has been widely criticised by people of all sections.

But despite several educational campaigns and safety advisories, some still continue to use them for their own pleasure and social media popularity.

The use of a tiger for an extravagant gender reveal in Dubai has left social media users fuming. In a footage widely circulated online, a tiger appears to be on a beach next to the famous Burj Al Arab hotel.

The video and pictures go on to show the tiger faced with some balloons that are filled with mist, something that was used to reveal the gender of a baby, according to reports.

The tiger leaps and pops one of the balloons with its paws to send pink mist flying in the air to reveal the baby.

The clip was shared with the caption: “Gender reveal gone #wild congrats mama.” It also had a ‘disclaimer’ that read: “Disclaimer – tiger was not harmed and plastic was disposed of, relax everyone.”

The video has also been posted on the verified Instagram profile ‘LovinDubai’, where it has garnered over 3 lakh views in just a day.

While some users congratulated the couple and left positive comments, many said the use of wild animals for public events should be banned and people attempting such stunts should be punished.

A user wrote, “This isn’t something to be proud of. These animals are not pets”.

“Absolutely ridiculous! Such a shame! Let the wild be in the wild!” wrote another

“A tiger’s place is in the wilderness not as a pet in Dubai or anywhere else,” wrote a third user.

“Only it has been very much illegal to own wild animals as pets for quite a few years now in Dubai. Using them as your props for Tiktok/Instagram is disgusting,” told another user.

Not so long ago, cops in Dubai warned that bringing out any wild animals into a public environment is strictly prohibited under the Emirate’s laws.

Violators could face a jail term of up to six months, the Dubai Police had said in May after a wild cat was on the loose.

In June, an influencer from Pakistan was heavily criticised on social media for using a lioness as an entertainment prop at a party. A few months before that, a couple from Pakistan used a sedated lion cub as a prop for their wedding photoshoot in Lahore.
