As informed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) previously, the PDRM will be conducting house visit at the residential areas to ensure the SOPs are always complied with.
Despite their efforts to maintain the order, it may be perceived as something negative by individuals.
According to Harian Metro, Nilai district police chief, Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman has open an investigation against a netizen, who goes by the name “No War But Class War’ @ Icsmxms” on Twitter for spreading fake news about PDRM imposing hefty fines on the residents in Nilai Impian, Negeri Sembilan.
The netizen tweeted “The area of my house in Nilai Impian. Host was compounded RM25K, whereas, Guest RM5K” on Thursday (13 May).
Responding to the matter, Mohd Fazley said that the operation carried out was smoothly and there were no compound was issued given that the residents in the area had complied with the SOP imposed by the Malaysian National Security Council (MKN).
Despite that, he said the police officers on duty will not hesitate to issue a compound if they were found guilty of violating the SOPs.
Meanwhile, the investigation will be conducted in accordance with Section 505 (b), Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 4 (1) of the Emergency (Essential Powers) (No. 2) Ordinance 2021.
Mohd Fazley also urge the public to stop spreading any pictures or news on their social media accounts without adequate supporting for the event.
He added that the picture that the netizen circulated was a house-to-house inspection on the first day of Aidilfitri at the Nilai Impian housing estate in Nilai. It had been misinterpreted as the authorities issuing compounds to the public.
