MCO 3.0: 30% Management Staff Allowed To Enter Office Only

International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) announced that all economic sectors in Selangor’s six districts that are under the movement control order (MCO) can operate as usual under existing standard operating procedures.

All economic sectors including the manufacturing sector are allow to operate except for activities which are listed in the “negative list” of general SOPs of MCO 3.0.

It also stated that the earlier work-from-home order, which allows only one-third of management personnel to be in the office at any one time, will apply in these areas.

The general SOPs for MCO 3.0 are based on the SOPs of the existing MCO, except that no dine-ins are allowed.

HIDE can identify high-risk locations which are the source of infections. This move is more targeted and more effective to control community infections instead of a complete lockdown.

Companies will face legal action as well as temporary shutdown of their operations if they do not follow the SOPs .

The Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts will be placed under MCO from May 6 to 17, while three other districts – Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor – will remain under conditional MCO.

“These SOPs can be accessed on the National Security Council website at www.mkn.gov.my.

“Companies must adhere to the MCO 3.0 SOPs and also abide by the work-from-home rulings, which is 30% of the management can be present in office, while the attendance of the supporting staff will be decided by employers, ” said Miti in a statement on Wednesday (May 5).

The ministry also urged the industries to work with the government as enforcement using the Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement(HIDE), a form of early warning system, will be put in place.
