Man Who Jumped Into Tasik Cermin In Perak Wanted By Ipoh City Council

Tasik Cermin is one of the famous tourist attractions in Ipoh, Perak but it is now closed for visitors after one tourist behaved poorly in the place.

On Sunday (13 December), a man was caught on camera while jumping into the lake. The video has since then went viral on TikTok, garnering over 2.1M views, 158.4k likes as of the time of writing.

In the video, it can be seen the man in black climbing on the fence before he diving into the lake.

Meanwhile, the netizen who shared the video said she was confused by the man’s action. While the crowd of tourists thought the man was done, he made a second dive into the lake.

In the next video, the netizen added a caption that said “He’s an Arabic and not Malaysian.”, but the local authorities have yet to confirm the man’s identity.

When contacted by Kosmo, the Ipoh Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said tourists and visitors are prohibited from entering the lake.

He added that the council is currently investigating the incident and action will be taken against the individual involved.

“We’re still looking for the man and will charge him in accordance with the law.” he said.

He also said the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh, MBI) will be appointing a special task force to observe safety measures near the lake.

Nonetheless, many netizens had criticised the man’s actions and blamed him for the sole reason that the recreational park is now closed.
