The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is planning to introduce a compulsory post-marriage course for all married couples to strengthen family institutions in the country.
According to Bernama, the Minister of Women and Family, Rina Harun said that currently there is only a pre-marriage course that potential Muslim brides and grooms are required to attend to get married.
Rina suggests that that there should be a post-marriage course to strengthen the marriage, especially by teaching parenting skills to them. The ministry takes the issue of strengthening the family institution seriously.
Furthermore, Rina said that the ministry is considering whether to make the post-marriage courses compulsory for all races in the country. The ministry is currently working closely with the private sector to create some 10,000 employment opportunities, especially for women.
