A group of 20 Foodpanda riders had took the initiative to repaint almost 50 speed bumps in Kampung Baru Kerteh, Terengganu.
The program coordinator, Ahmad Aslah Azman said that many residents around, including among the riders themselves had complained that it was difficult to detect the road bumps that had faded due to weather and time factors.
“This is very dangerous to the safety of motorcyclists, and it includes us as riders, especially at night.
“We collect money from each other to buy paint, paint brushes and others items,” he said when met by Kosmo.
Ahmad Aslan added that the initiative to repaint the speed bumps had received the blessings from the Deputy Chairman of the Terengganu Infrastructure, Public Facilities, Utilities and Green Technology Committee, Saiful Azmi Suhaili and the Baru Kerteh Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK).
He added that he and other food delivery friends had spend some time in the daily hustle of fulfilling customer orders to repaint the 50 speed bumps.
“This is our small contribution to the local community. Hopefully, it can correct the perception of some people who look down on riders like us who are supposed to behave like street thugs, ”he said.
