The government has imposed stringent restrictions for 11 localities in four states after considering the input from the Health Ministry, risk assessments and Covid-19 infection trends in the localities concerned.
According to the National Security Council (NSC) Director-General Datu Rodzi Md Saad, the 11 localities that the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will affect seven localities in Sabah, two in Perak, one in Kedah and one in Pahang.
The seven localities in Sabah are in Tawau (Taman Thien Vun, Taman Victoria, Taman King Fook and Kg Kurnia, Batu 4), Beluran (Kg Sg Sulit Paitan and Kg Matanggal Lama) and Sandakan (Taman Mesra People’s Housing Project (PPR)).
Two localities in Perak are the Sg Pinang Kecil Platform, Pulau Pangkor and the Tapah Prison.
For Kedah, EMCO will affect the Pokok Sena Prison and Kg Telemin, Gua in Pahang.
The government has also extended the EMCO for Kg Orang Asli Sg Bot in Karak, Bentong, Pahang, Taman Semarak Indah, Tawau, and Kg Tg Kapor, Kudat.
Set to begin Monday 23 August, the EMCO will end on September 5, which also includes areas that are under EMCO extension.
