Have you ever thought of traversing the expanse beyond Earth’s skies into space at least once in your lifetime? Well, that dream of yours may soon be a reality!
Space Perspective, the world’s first luxury spaceflight experience, has unveiled its spaceship, Spaceship Neptune, which is set to take passengers to space in 2024.
In a Facebook post, they wrote, “Explorers will have unparalleled views from the 360-degree panoramic windows – the largest-ever flown to space.”
Spaceship Nepture is a giant balloon that will supposedly be able to carry passengers 100,000 feet up above the ground and then backs down again.
The trip starts with a 2-hour ascend to space, where you will spend 2 hours at the edge of space just above 100,000 feet. Then, it will take another 2 hours to descend back to earth.
The balloon is constructed with sustainable materials such as recycled balloon material, with the craft itself producing zero emissions as it goes up into the stratosphere. There’s one thing that we would emphasize on and it is extremely safe!
“Spaceship Neptune was developed to be the most accessible, most sustainable, and safest spacecraft on or above Planet Earth,” said Space Perspective on the official website.
“It comprises the SpaceBalloon, Reserve Descent System, and Neptune Capsule.”
“Unlike all other spacecraft whereby the crewed compartment separates from one flight system mid-flight and transfers to another flight system, Spaceship Neptune’s capsule remains secured to the SpaceBalloon the entire flight from liftoff to splashdown, creating a seamlessly safe and gentle flight.”
In the meantime, Spaceship Neptune also emphasizes luxury and comfort. Judging by the photos released by the company, you’ll probably understand that it’ll all act as one large floating lounge with a breathtaking view high up past the clouds.
There will be reclining seats or couches that can be configured in several ways to accommodate tourists depending on what they prefer. In addition, the interior will come with food and beverage services, access to WiFi, customizable mood lighting, and even a telescope that lets you peer back down on the planet.
For only US$125,000 (≈RM530,000) per person, you can take a trip beyond our skies and float among the stars while enjoying a view of the earth that’s just out of this world.
According to Space Perspective, the first flight is scheduled for 2024, but the tickets are already sold out. If you are interested, you can look into booking your ticket at their website here.
