“Double Standards!” M’sians Called Out To Khairy After More ‘Karens’ Seen Walking At KLCC Park Without Masks

Previously, a fine was imposed on Kerry, also known as the KLCC ‘Karen’ for not wearing a mask prior entering the Dior boutique in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).

However, it seems that fine alone is not enough to deter other expatriates from violating the SOPs imposed by the Health Ministry (KKM).

Apart from Kerry, it Twitter user, @AdibahOj has pointed out that many other foreigners have been doing the same, while walking on the streets in Kuala Lumpur.

In her tweet, she shared a photo of a pair of female expatriates walking around without a mask at KLCC park, and she wrote “So only a Karen doesn’t need to wear a mask? Wow!”

“I’m so angry because I am local and I follow the rules but this motherfu*ker can simply walk without a mask? This is too much! Is this KLCC area filled with Karens who don’t wear masks? Where is the law? Am I right to be angry?” she said.

Meanwhile, the twitter user also tagged the Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in her tweet, prompting him to take action against this.

In the series of tweet, she explained that she is angry because when she was strolling with her child near the fountain at KLCC park, she so happened to take off her mask to take a selfie with her child, but she quickly received a whistle by a police who tells her that she cannot take off her mask.

“Even to take a photo I had to wear a mask! Then what about those Karens.” she said.

“I understood and followed his instructions after he informed me. But for those Karens who walk around casually in the park its fine.” she added.

The series of tweet had went viral and has garnered over 6,000 retweets and 4,300 likes at the time of writing.

Netizens then flooded the comment sections, expressing their support for the netizen and called out to the authorities to enforce the SOPs without giving leeways to the VIPs.

One netizen even tagged both the Health Minister and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and said “There has been an abundance of pictures of Karens not wearing masks again and again. Are you just going to remain quiet? If it’s us then you are quick to take action.”

“We are waiting for you to take action.” she added.

On the other hand, a netizen said that the KLCC area is filled with expats who do not like to wear masks in public areas.
