A 28 year-old man was found dead at his home in Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, Johor on Sunday (5 September). He was found to have sustained injuries on his hands and right leg at the scene.
According to Kosmo, Seri Alam Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Sohaimi Ishak said the police were informed about incident at 7.35 a.m. on the same day.
He said the preliminary investigations shows the man was believed to have lost his temper at the Taman Scientex mosque when he notice that the mosque was closed after Isha prayers in accordance with the SOP.
“The victim punched the door of the mosque’s glass door until it broke, causing his hands to be covered in blood. There were traces of bloodstains on the floor of the mosque.”
“A closed circuit television (CCTV) camera check found that the man punched the glass door twice until it broke.” Sohaimi said.
There were a awful lot of blood that was seen on the floor too.
Sohaimi said based on the preliminary investigations, the sister of the deceased said that her brother was a chemical engineer in Johor and his family was over 500km away with almost a 7-hour drive away in Kuala Berang, Terengganu.
The investigation also found that he has not seen his family in the past 6 months due to the ban on interstate travel.
He added that the autopsy found that the cause of death was severe wounding to the right wrist and severed blood vessels and tendons. They were believed to be sustained when he smashed the glass door. The injuries and blood loss led to his death.
The victim’s body was referred to Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) and the case was classified as a case of sudden death.
