Knowing that the demand for Covid-19 vaccines are so strong, irresponsible parties had used this to their advantage to sell fake vaccines online. As reported in Bernama, 2 police reports were lodged in regards to a scam involving the sale of Covid-19 vaccines and it results in losses amounts to RM285,499.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob said that the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

“Police have noticed the advertisement that went viral on social media regarding the sale of the COVID-19 vaccine online and the business operator has issued a statement to deny it,” he said.

Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob also added that the government of Malaysia is offering free vaccines. Hence, any parties who offers vaccine for sale is probably a scam.

“The public is also advised to always follow announcements and instructions issued by the government from time to time in ensuring accurate information is obtained related to this vaccination program,” said Zainuddin.
