As Covid-19 death count rises, Sungai Buloh Hospital is forced to use Special Containers to keep Covid-19 Corpses

As the daily Covid-19 cases rises in Malaysia, the burden on the Malaysian Healthcare system increases and some said that it is almost at it’s limit too.

The Ministry of Health (KKM) had urged the citizens to stay at home unless it is necessary to go out and to comply with the SOP at all times to help curb the spread of the virus.

Yesterday (16 May), KKM shared on how the officers in the Sungai Buloh Hospital’s Forensic Medicine Department do Covid-19 tests on corpses that are brought in dead (BID). They commented that the BID cases had spiked recently.

Meanwhile, in another post KKM shared on Facebook, they said Sungai Buloh hospital was forced to prepare special containers to keep Covid-19 positive corpses.

Commenting on the Covid-19 deaths, KKM said that almost 80% of the deaths are those who are elderly or those that suffer from more than 1 chronic disease or comorbidity. Most of them were infected from their close family members who are tested positive for Covid-19.

The Ministry also advise those who are living with people from high-risk group to take extra precautions as a measure to protect themselves and their loved ones.
