On Friday (10 December), Malaysians were horrified to see a bunch of students from a MRSM boarding school in Perak bullying a poor boy in a dorm room.
The incident had went viral on social media and it had caught the attention of many, including the Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid and he said that the 6 students involved have been suspended from school for 2 weeks with immediate effect.
He said in a brief statement on Saturday (11 December), adding that the MRSM disciplinary board has identified 10 students who are believed to be involved.

“In the report, six students had a hand in beating up the victim, while the other four were there provoking and abetting the rest. They are in Form One to Form Three.” he said, reported Utusan.
Meanwhile, the board also suggested that those involved to be expelled from the institution.
Earlier, the 6 students were reported to be detained by the police to assist in the investigations of a bullying case that allegedly took place at the Sultan Azlan Shah Mara Junior Science College (MRSM), Kuala Kangsar.
Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the students, all aged 13, were detained when they turned up to give their statements at the Kuala Kangsar district police headquarters on Friday (10 December).
He added that the case is being under Section 147 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

In response to the incident, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will conduct a detailed investigation into the bullying incident in the viral video.
There were several video clips lasting between 13 seconds to 30 seconds being circulated on social media showing the boy who appeared to be the victim of bullying was ordered to stand up before he was kicked in the back and punched several times in the stomach by several other youths.
It is believed that the incident occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on 9 December and it involved 7 teenage suspects and a victim, all aged 13.
