During Chinese New Year (CNY), lion dance performances are frequently directed by members of the Chinese community.
The fact that a Malay girl and her Chinese companion were competing in a lion dance competition caught Malaysians completely off guard.
Expertly Performed the Lion Dance
The two girls were seen showcasing their lion dance prowess in a competition in a 9-minute video that @ahpeng2830 shared on TikTok. One of the girls was in command of the lion’s head, and the other was in control of the rear.
The girls’ suppleness and amazing balance abilities as they danced around the many objects put around the arena during the performance astounded the audience.
The audience cheered and applauded the girls as they took off the lion costume toward the end for their outstanding performance.
