Immigration department records show Russian daredevil couple did not enter nor leave the country

The Immigration Department’s records showed that the Russian couple, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, have neither entered nor left the country.

According to Utusan, a source said that the authorities are still investigating the details of the matter, including the possibility of the couple illegally entering Malaysia.

“So far, the investigation gathers that the two individuals are not in the country. Inspections found that there was no record of them entering or leaving the immigration system,” the source was quoted as saying.

The source also said that the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the Merdeka 118 tower did not capture any sign of the couple.

“We have also called nine individuals, including staff and workers at the tower, after the trespassing went viral,” the source was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the source added that the couple’s viral video has been sent for forensic analysis to Cyber Security Malaysia, which is under the Ministry of Communications and Digital.

Digitally modified?

Earlier, Russian rooftopper Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus denied claims of the viral photos and videos being digitally modified.

The extreme climber couple who made headlines recently said the video footage and photographs uploaded by her and her partner, Ivan Beerkus on their social media platforms should provide enough proof of their legitimacy in their latest climbing venture.

“I don’t know how to respond to assumptions that the videos posted are fake, because I think there is enough content showing they are true.”

“I think it would take too much time and effort to fake such things! Also, as the first woman rooftopper, I have to keep up the high standard.

“And taking into account my previous experiences and NFTs (non-fungible tokens), it would be strange to post something fake,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nikolau remained silent regarding the current whereabouts, fearing repercussions.
