On Christmas morning, shoppers at Star City Mall in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, were shocked to see a vehicle that had ploughed through the second story ceiling.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department‘s Facebook page, Kota Kinabalu firefighters were immediately dispatched to the mall after receiving an emergency call at 10.56am.
The Toyota Vios was hanging from the ceiling when the team got there, apparently having smashed through a wall in the parking lot on the third level and fallen to the second story.
The Vios’s driver and another passenger were able to exit the vehicle on their own, suffering just minor wounds.
The two victims, a 24-year-old male and a 30-year-old woman, were also mentioned in the article as having been transported to the hospital by ambulance.
With assistance from the Royal Malaysian Police and the Ministry of Health, the operation was completed at 11.59 a.m.
