Hadi fires rounds at Anwar’s unity government again, M’sians slam him for politicking amid floods

Social NewsHadi fires rounds at Anwar's unity government again, M'sians slam him for...

It has been more than a month since the 15th General Elections results were announced, but PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang continues to fire rounds at the Anwar-led unity government and accused it of being immoral and corrupt.

In a statement on Thursday (22 December), Hadi once again urged Malaysians to reject leaders who deceive the public as they band together to clinch federal power. He also accused Pakatan Harapan (PH) of lying its way into forming the government both in the 2018 and recent general elections.

He said that PH is desperate for power and this is evidenced by its decision to cooperate with immoral and corrupt leaders, believed to be referenced to the UMNO-led Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.

Meanwhile, he also accused PH of spreading misinformation to obtain the support of the Malay community, as well as spreading Islamophobia and labelling PAS as a racist party.

His state is underwater but he’s still politicking

His remarks did not go well with netizens as many chided the PAS president for politicking despite it having been more than a month since the election results were out. Even more so when several states in the country are facing massive floods due to the monsoon season.

The recent floods that inundated major parts of Terengganu and neighbouring Kelantan has displaced more than 70,000 people in the state, including 232 flood victims in Marang, Hadi Awang’s constituency.

While Hadi did share a couple of photos of his visits to flood-affected areas in the past few days, netizens still think Hadi misplaced his priorities.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been to Kelantan and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi went to Terengganu to deal with the floods. But you didn’t even say thank you for the immediate allocation of RM100 million (granted by the government) for the Perikatan Nasional-held states,” a netizen said.

“People do not want to know what happens during the election. They want to know the important information during these floods,” another netizen said.

Meanwhile, some netizens said that Hadi is just politicking and that is the best he can do.

“The election is over, and the government was formed. Instead of letting the government focus on managing the country, the ‘power crazy’ Hadi continues to fire shots at the government. During the Parliamentary session, he kept quiet and did not voice anything about DAP,” a netizen said.

“This is PAS’ only expertise: cursing, insulting, and slandering other parties. They can’t think about how to solve problems, and can’t manage a single job. They only shake their legs while blindly earning a salary,” one netizen said.
