Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been making several headlines for his simple lifestyle and the use of inexpensive everyday items.
Last month, Malaysians were excited to discover that the Prime Minister used the Artline 210 writing pen during his swearing-in ceremony. The pen that went viral were then sold out at stores across the country.
Shortly after, Anwar announced that he turned down the use of a Mercedes-Benz S600 limousine as his new official car and will instead use whichever vehicle that is readily available for him.
This time around, Anwar’s pair of socks came under the spotlight after netizens recognised that they came from the retail chain Eco Shop and were sold at only RM2.40.

This came after Anwar shared a couple of photos of his meeting with the 4th Crown Prince of Pahang on 18 December.
“It’s an honour to have an audience with the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, I humbly thank you for agreeing to meet with me this morning,” Anwar wrote in his tweet.

PMX has done it again!
However, eagle-eyed netizens were quick to notice that Anwar was wearing a pair of economical socks and was once again impressed by his simple lifestyle that resonates with the average Malaysian.
“PMX has done it again, making cheap stuff looks exclusive and professional,” a netizen said.
A number of netizens also said that they are growing tired of being impressed by Anwar, but it appears that there are many more to come.
Meanwhile, some netizens jokingly said that Eco-Shop’s sales would skyrocket after this goes viral on social media.
