After Perikatan Nasional (PN) failed to form a unity government with the other coalitions, disappointed supporters of PN are now calling for a ‘black wave’ protest to showed their lack of confidence in Anwar’s unity government.

The ‘black wave’ protest is allegedly being organised on 18 and 19 December, in conjunction with the day of Anwar’s vote of confidence.

In a viral video on TikTok, it calls for a ‘black wave #tidakpercaya (do not believe)’ protest against the 10th Prime Minister.

“This is a silent protest by doing some things to show that you don’t support the prime minister,” the caption reads.

In the video, it invited people to wear black clothes and change their social media profile pictures to a black background.

The viral video also claims that the ‘black wave’ protest is not illegal because it did not involved religion, race and incitement. It also claimed that the protest does not threaten public order and does not involve street marches.

It’s time to move on

Meanwhile, the viral video has made its way to Twitter with some netizens urging these PN supporters to move on and accept that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was officially sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister.

“What is the purpose of this ‘black wave’? The unity government has been formed. Let us all fix the government that we have now instead of finding was to make it collapse,” a netizen said.

“According to my observation, the person who called for this ‘black wave’ protest is disappointed by the fact that PN failed to for the government and has not moved on. They are fighting against the decision by YDPA, as well as the other state rulers by protesting,” another netizen said.

The viral video has caught the attention of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) communications chief Khalid Abdul Samad who slam those who attempted to manipulate the truth and initiate a protest.

In a Facebook video, Khalid urged them to stop wasting their effort in bringing down the unity government and more importantly, stop spreading lies.
