What is supposed to be a happy fun fair ride turned into an accident after three individuals were flung off a rotating amusement park ride at the Eco Grandeur fun fair, Puncak Alam yesterday evening (12 December).
According to a report by Bernama, Kuala Selangor District Police chief Supt Ramli Kasa said the police immediately dispatched a team to the scene after receiving a phone call regarding the incident at about 8.50 pm.
Ramli said the initial investigation found that the victims comprised two women and a child.
“The three of them fell while the ride known as the ‘Sotong Ride’ was in motion. All the victims were taken to Shah Alam Hospital in an ambulance,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said the investigation will be conducted under Section 6 of the Selangor State Entertainment & Places of Entertainment Enactment 1995 for operating without a licence.

Earlier, a video showed the ‘Squid Ride’ lifting off the ground and rotating, but the victims were suddenly flung out of their seats and crashed into the metal barricade before the video cuts out.
Meanwhile, Berita Harian reported that at least one of the women was critically injured, while the condition of the other woman and the child remains unknown.
