All Unifi subscribers can now watch all premium channels on Unifi TV for no additional charge through January 1, 2023. To commemorate reaching the three million subscriber milestone, unifi has launched a number of promotions, including the free access.
Normally, the Ultimate Pack costs RM60 per month to get access to all unifi TV channels. The actual package, of course, comes with further benefits including access to a number of streaming services like Disney+ Hotstar, beIN SPORTS CONNECT, SPOTV NOW, Lionsgate Play, and BBC Player.
Additionally, the Ultimate Package includes a unifi Plus Box as standard equipment. However, users of Android TV devices and some Samsung and LG smart TVs can also access unifi TV by downloading the appropriate app from Google Play or their smart TV’s app store.
All movies that are accessible through the on-demand area of unifi TV are likewise discounted by up to 50% during the same time period. Customers can also sign up for a 14-day free trial of the streaming apps viu, WeTV, and iQiYi, which typically cost between RM5.90 and RM12.90 per month.
What happened to the unifi #KotakApaNi teaser that we mentioned last month, in the meantime? It appears that our forecasts were completely incorrect because TM did not make any new 5G-based home wireless service announcements today.
The “kotak” was, in fact, a reference to the “Box Of Happiness” that unifi has placed in five different locations throughout Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang. The internet and mobile division of TM did feature the one in Penang during a Facebook Live session earlier today, however we haven’t really seen them yet. It turned out to be just a huge video screen that is being used to promote content from unifi TV.
We still feel a little underwhelmed by the announcement from unifi today, even though it may not be as awful as the TM’s Bawang outing from back in 2018. It is disappointing,
