Three districts in Perak and Selangor were badly affected by the floods after the heavy downpour yesterday (30 November).
In a statement, the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) said that 403 evacuees have been placed in temporary evacuation centres (PPS) as of 4 pm yesterday.
It also reported that this is a slight increase from Tuesday (29 November), when they had to open two PPS for the victims of floods in the Sepang, Hulu Selangor and Ampang Jaya districts.
“The two PPS opened yesterday in Selangor was to accommodate 90 victims from 24 households,” NADMA said.

NADMA also cautioned that these floods could happen earlier or later than expected so all residents should be cautious and follow the instructions of authorities and flood management agencies involved.
Meanwhile, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) reported that as of 4.30 pm yesterday (30 November), Sungai Junjung in Penang was at dangerous water levels while two others, Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Bernam in Selangor are at warning levels.
The department also issued a flood warning for Terengganu and Kelantan that involved Sungai Setiu, Sungai Dungan, Sungai Kemaman, Sungai Paka, Sungai Besut and Sungai Golok.

Continuous rain until 4 December
At the same time, the Department of Meteorology (MetMalaysia) issued continuous rain warning involving east of Sabah, the east coast and several areas in the north of the peninsula from 1 to 4 December.
