Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has warned that stern action will be taken against those who spread provocation and incite racial as well as religious sentiments, following Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sworn in as the 10th prime minister.

In addition, he also discouraged the people to organise any form of political gatherings or parades in public places for the time being.

“For the sake of safety and public order, media social account users are also advised to avoid displaying acts that can cause conflict within the community.

“The police will stay committed to discharging their responsibilities in maintaining security and upholding the rule of law for the well-being of the nation,” said Acryl Sani in a statement.

He also requested the public to refrain from any hostilities and respect the outcome of the democratic process concerning the appointment of the 10th prime minister.

Meanwhile, Acryl Sani on behalf of the Royal Malaysian Police also congratulated Anwar on his appointment as the 10th prime minister.
