The late Tok Guru Nik Aziz, also the former President of PAS has left us many years now, but his legacy and wise words remain engraved in the hearts of many Malaysians.
The 15th General election ended with a hung Parliament, and amidst the ongoing chaos and drama as politicians fight to form the next federal government, a clip that contains snippets of the late Nik Aziz preaching about racial unity has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the late Tok Guru said he has attended many multicultural events, including weddings and funerals of other races, and how the religion focus on living in harmony with other races.
“I’m simply following the Prophet’s way,” he said.

He also said that it is not the different races that are a threat to the country, but the different ideologies instead.
“The Malays are not a threat to the Chinese, and the Chinese are not a threat to the Malays. What’s really threatening us are the wrong ideologies,” he said.
The video was shared by TikTok page Harian Becok as it reminds the people that Malaysia is a multiracial country, and racial riots like the ’13th May incident’ should be put to a stop.
We miss Tok Guru
Meanwhile, the teachings of the late Tok Guru has gain much attention from Malaysians, with many commenting that they agree with him.
“Although I’m from a different race, but I respect the late Tok Guru Nik Aziz,” a netizen said.
“I respect him. He had never labeled DAP as communists and in fact, he worked together with them. Shame on all of the politicians who play the race cards to gain votes,” another netizen said.
“Nik Aziz used to work with PKR and DAP and the past as he believed in the law and the constitution. PAS is different now,” one netizen said.
The late Tok Guru’s leaving is definitely a great loss for Malaysians, but let us not forget his teachings, legacy and wishes for a better and united Malaysia.
