BN’s candidate for the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat Khairy Jamaluddin has acknowledged that there are a small number of UMNO leaders who were disliked by the people and wishes to ‘cleanse’ his party if he wins the Sungai Buloh parliamentary seat.
Khairy also revealed that he had bigger plans for the country, UMNO and BN if he managed to capture Sungai Buloh.
“I don’t want to stop at Sungai Buloh simply because competing here is the biggest challenge in my political career. It’s not easy to win here, but if I win, I want to take all of us, not now but maybe in the next five or 10 years to lead the country.”
“I also want to bring change to my party (UMNO) and want UMNO to be seen again as a noble vessel for the Malay community. Now many people meet and inform me, it’s not that they don’t like UMNO but they don’t like some (individuals) in UMNO.”
“The media should not compare me to the President (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) but this is the truth and the reality. My friends and I want to return UMNO as a noble, clean, changing Malay body that has good leaders and can be trusted like it was in the past,” he said, reported Berita Harian.

UMNO has gone astray
Meanwhile, Khairy insisted that all parties need to admit that UMNO needs a change to return to being a party that everybody is proud of and return it its former glory. He added that UMNO has gone astray and its path needs to be corrected again.
“We are telling the truth. Let’s not hide anymore. Malays always have sentimental feelings towards UMNO. It’s just that UMNO has gone astray and needs to go back to its roots to be corrected again.”
“I want to win GE15 to ensure Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob remains as the Prime Minister. After that, we will clean up UMNO and bring back the confidence of the people.
“I’m a reformist in UMNO and I can’t keep quiet about this. That’s why I was sent to Sungai Buloh. If no one dares to come forward, it will never change.”
“That is why my bet this time is not only for Sungai Buloh but for the future of the country, UMNO and BN. If I win, God willing, we can see big changes. Starting from Sungai Buloh and ending in Putrajaya,” he said.
