The general election in 2018 has been one of the most dramatic elections we have had in Malaysian history as this is the very first time the Opposition managed to take over the federal government since independence.
And now, it appears that the story of one particular Malaysian politician caught the attention of a production team in Indonesia.
According to Twitter user @madmarquez, the movie will be a biopic about one of our political candidates for this GE15 coming to life, and this guy is non-other than the Pakatan Harapan leader —Anwar Ibrahim.
The upcoming Indonesian film is titled ‘Jalan Masih Panjang‘ (Far from the end) and it is produced by Bianglala Entertainment in Indonesia and also has some Malaysian crew in it too. The film will be directed by Viva Westi.

Many had been wanting to make a movie about Anwar Ibrahim for years!
The film will be starred by Farid Kamil (who will play Anwar Ibrahim in the movie) and Acha Septriasa as Dr Wan Azizah.
Meanwhile, the former MP for Kangar, Noor Amin bin Ahmad also revealed that since 2018 after PH took over the federal government, several parties has approached him for this matter.
“Some wanted to make a documentary while some wanted to make a movie,” he said in a Facebook post.
Can’t wait for it
Nonetheless, netizens had expressed excitement to see the movie.
“Can’t wait for the movie to be released,” a netizen said.
On the other hand, one netizen called on producers to make a movie with the title ‘Penyamun Yang Tersungkur‘ (The fallen thief), where it is believed that the netizen is referring to the convicted former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
