Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that the Cyberjaya Hospital will fully operate as a public hospital with the provision of 14 specialists and healthcare services.

In a statement, Khairy said the cabinet meeting on Friday (7 October) approved to convert of the hospital into a major specialist hospital, as well as the addition of a new health clinic at the hospital to meet the demand for healthcare services.

The services offered here include emergency services, general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry and mental health as well as dentistry.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister said that this will be implemented in phases starting 11 November, with six specialist departments, namely emergency, medical, surgical, anesthesiology, paediatric as well as obstetrics and gynaecology being set up during the initial phase of the operation.

Cyberjaya Health Clinic

Meanwhile, Khairy noted that there is an urgent need for a new health clinic in the Sepang district to ease congestion at the Dengkil Health Clinic.

Thus, Cyberjaya Hospital will be open as Cyberjaya Health Clinic for outpatient treatment starting 1 November.

“The operation of Cyberjaya Hospital as a public hospital and the opening of the Cyberjaya Health Clinic will provide access to quality and comprehensive government healthcare services to the surrounding population.”

“This will reduce the waiting time and congestion at the nearby health facilities, namely Serdang Hospital, Kajang Hospital and Putrajaya Hospital,” he said.

Cyberjaya Hospital has a capacity of 288 beds and an emergency block. It also has 1,006 parking bays, including 790 in the multi-storey car park.
