NewsMinistry Of Health launches KKMNOW website

A new website called KKMNOW has been launched, according to health minister Khairy Jamaluddin, and it “will help the public comprehend the newest in healthcare with hard data.” The Department of Statistics has helped create the website.

KKMNOW is possibly a development of the COVIDNOW website, which solely shows information pertaining to COVID-19. People can now obtain information on other items including blood availability, organ donation, and hospital bed utilisation through this new website. In the future, more information will be provided, such as statistics on mortality, medicine stock, and ambulance response times.

According to Khairy, KKMNOW is a “live website,” and during the following few weeks, “new data sets will be introduced every week.” Additionally, the minister expresses his hope that doing this may inspire other ministries to disclose their statistics.

The Ministry of Health is now the first government agency to give public access to an open data source. The ministry intends to add information on flooding and traffic accidents to KKMNow. The report quotes the minister as adding that these fall under the responsibility of the Health Ministry and that accidents may result in victims whose care may require blood transfusions. On the other hand, floods are known to spread disease, making them pertinent to the ministry.

The KKMNOW website dashboards area contains the majority of the data, which will no doubt please people who enjoy statistics. Additionally, these statistics can be seen for the entire nation or broken down by each state, as well as the three Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan.
