How would you spend your money if you ever won a jackpot? While some may think of retiring early or travelling around the world, others may put the money aside for emergency purposes.
Recently, a 44-year-old man from Johor became the lucky winner of the Sports Toto jackpot and turned an overnight millionaire after bringing home the total prize amounting to RM31.9 million.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the lucky jackpot winner works as a supervisor for a trading company in Singapore and commutes there every day.
When collecting his winnings at the Sports Toto headquarters, he said that the chances of one winning are higher when he or she expects nothing.
“I always bet on Toto 4D Jackpot and Supreme Toto 6/58 games just for the sake of playing, and I had never expected that I could become a jackpot winner one day,” he said.
It was reported that the man bought his winning ticket at Bukit Indah Garden, Johor Bahru branch.
In the interview, the man reveals that he has no plans for early retirement and will continue to work in Singapore.
“My wife and I are very happy that our dream has finally come true! Although I can retire early now, I will not just lay flat but will continue to work in Singapore,” he said.
He also shared that he will use the winnings to pay off all his loans, donate to charity, buy a property and fund his children’s education.
It seems that the man has planned his finances through and we hope the best for him in his future endeavours!
