As the hype for Apple’s latest iPhone 14 continues, the incredibly premium price tag starting from RM5,299 does not seem to deter tech enthusiasts and Apple fans from grabbing a piece of this latest gadget.

Recently, Facebook user 黄志耀 took it online to share how he managed to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max at only RM883.30!

The post was uploaded to the local community Facebook group iPhone 吹水站. Along with the post, he uploaded 2 screenshots, one showing the price of the brand-new iPhone 14 Pro Max with 256GB storage from local authorised Apple reseller Machines, while the other is the balance he had to pay.

As one can expect, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is priced at an eye-watering RM6,299, which is consistent with the listed prices from the Cupertino-based tech company.

However, the next screenshot showed how he was able to obtain an incredible RM5,415.70 off the retail price of his phone.

If you are still wondering how he did it, the man managed to do it by redeeming all of his GrabPoints, which amount to 893,590, in one go!

In return, he only has to pay RM883.30 for the remaining.

The post has since garnered a lot of attention from netizens, with some pointing out that he is technically spending his own money to purchase the latest gadget in a way, while others asked how he manage to accumulate the amount of points he had.

“Please tell me, how long did you need to accumulate these points?” a netizen asked.

“Well, I used GrabPay every day,” another netizen said.

Meanwhile, some netizens pointed out that Grabpay users will sometime earn extra points during campaigns or when they are platinum users.

Nonetheless, this post has encouraged some netizens to start saving their GrabReward Points for an iPhone next year.
