Watch: Woman makes disabled food delivery rider climbs 17 floors to deliver her order to her doorstep

Social NewsWatch: Woman makes disabled food delivery rider climbs 17 floors to deliver...

Being a food delivery rider is no easy task as it requires one to brave the wild weather to deliver our favourite food to our doorstep. Thus, we should be grateful and appreciate their contribution to our convenience.

While some riders are willing to go the extra mile to ensure our order is delivered to us, this does not mean we could demand them to do whatever we wish.

Recently, a Foodpanda rider named Lukmanulhakim Mustaffa or known as Akim on TikTok took it online to respond to another TikTok user who complained about food delivery riders not willing to send her order up to her apartment, which she then threatened to cancel the order.

In Akim’s video, he gave a sarcastic laugh while the camera zooms out to finally show his prosthetic leg. “Yes miss, let me just climb 17 floors up the stairs,” he wrote in the caption.

It is believed that the building does not have lifts or that they are unavailable.

The video has since gone viral on TikTok with many netizens showing their support for Akim. Many also shared that they usually wait at the lobby for the riders to arrive.

In an interview with mStar, Akim says that every rider has their own challenges and that he’s being an amputee.

“It’s challenging for me because I can’t wear my prosthetic leg for more than 4 hours. Otherwise, my stump will be bruised or injured,” he shared.

Meanwhile, he also shared that he would inform his customers of his disabilities in hope that they would be considerate about his circumstances.

However, some of them do not understand and if that happens, he would have to pull through for the sake of the customer’s satisfaction.

Nonetheless, Akim remained positive in facing his challenges and is determined to not let his disabilities stop him from making an honest living.

He also expressed hope that his story would create more awareness among the public and that customers would be more considerate towards food delivery riders out there.
