Johor man stabs his girlfriend after she demanded a breakup

Rejection can be painful, but it should not be a reason for you to harm someone.

Recently, a 30-year-old man was arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend after she demanded a breakup.

In a statement, Seri Alam District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident took place in an apartment unit in Masai, Pasir Gudang at noon on 31 August.

He said the police received a report lodged by a security guard at the apartment who heard the victim’s screams.

“He then went to check on the unit and found a woman lying in a pool of blood while a man was seen standing with a knife,” Supt Sohaimi said.

“The 30-year-old suspect injured the victim by slashing several parts of her body and stabbing her.”

Mohd Sohaimi said the victim suffered injuries to her face, arm, and wrist, and was stabbed in the ribs. The victim has since been taken to Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) for further treatment.

At the same time, the suspect, who works as an e-hailing driver in the same location, was also arrested by the police at around 1 pm on the same day.

“Preliminary investigations found that the suspect acted aggressively because he was angry with the victim who refused to continue the romantic relationship between them,” he said.

He said the police have also confiscated a 19-centimetre-long knife used in the incident.

“It seems that the man had a previous record of criminal convictions,” he said.

The case is being investigated according to Section 326 of the Penal Code and the suspect has been remanded for 6 days starting from Thursday (1 September) after being ordered by the Assistant Registrar, Khalida Farhana Abu Bakar, at the Magistrate’s Court.
