Concerts will only invite the “wrath of Allah”, says PAS Youth leader Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.
In a statement on Facebook, Ahmad said these days, sins manifest in the form of too many concerts and urged the authorities to stop the concert madness.
“Stop this kind of work. Don’t challenge the emotions of Muslims. The authorities, please listen to the voice of Muslims before the wrath of Allah strikes.” he wrote.
Meanwhile, he also stressed that the issue is not political but religious, as he urged Muslims to unite on the matter.
The statement was made less than 24 hours after international singer Billie Eilish performed in Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
In the comment section, many of his supporters praised the Islamic party and said PAS is the people’s true saviour.
On the other hand, many said PAS should have spoken out earlier and also pointed out the fact concerts held are Syariah-compliant and halal, as the current government is predominantly Malay Muslim.
Meanwhile, it is noted that the international star is known for championing the LGBT community, with a song from her last album, titled “Wish You Were Gay”.
Eilish’s performance in Malaysia was a hit and she also received a warm welcome from fans who flooded the stadium grounds in the morning, although the concert only take place in the evening.
Nonetheless, this is not the first time the Islamic party had condemned concerts held in the country by various international performers.
In 2016, it had called for a Selena Gomez concert to be banned, alleging it promoted “Western culture and hedonism”.
