Whenever we fall ill, it is natural for us to apply for a medical certificate (MC) and take a day off for our bodies to rest and recuperate. However, this man is against this idea and thinks that taking MC is just being lazy.
In an interview with Kosmo, former TNB employee Kamaldin Mohd. Abdullah said he had never applied for MC throughout his 34 years of service.
“From fixing roads to handling bills to becoming a van driver, I’ve never taken an MC ever since I started working for TNB when I was 22 years old.”
“This includes me having toothaches, headaches, fever, cough, and getting into road accidents,” he said.

When being asked what is his motivation to work this hard, Kamaldin explained that it was his desire to work for his family.
Meanwhile, Kamaldin said although his achievements were not celebrated by any council in Penang, he said he is grateful that TNB recognises his contribution by giving him a certificate.
He also reprimanded those employees who often misuse MCs over ‘trivial’ matters.

“People nowadays take MC for the smallest of matters, such as heavy rains, dizziness, and punctured tyres. Don’t need to act so spoilt.”
“Young people also need to have motivation and interest to work. Taking sick leaves will only bring inconvenience to your colleagues. If you want to succeed, you need to get rid of the laziness in you,” he said.
Despite Kamaldin’s 100% attendance record, netizens were not impressed with his achievement. Most netizens were of the opinion that he was not doing himself a favour by not taking an MC.
“34 years for a piece of ugly certificate is not worth our health. Once uncle retires, another replacement will be found immediately. They won’t care about you,” a netizen said.
Tahniah. Inilah ciri2 pekerja yg dimahukan oleh kapitalis. Silap2 kau dah nazak pun dia expect kau kerja lg, ahli keluarga meninggal pun dia tak peduli.

“Uncle. If you bring your certificate to the HQ, you’ll not get any red carpet treatment. Please bear that the company reserves the right to terminate people anytime based on operational requirements,” another netizen said.
Some even mocked the fact that Kamaldin was only given a piece of paper as a token of appreciation for his many years of dedication.
“Congrats on getting a coloured A4 paper,” a netizen said.
