When it comes to donating, most of us would check on the eligibility of the recipient and leave the amount or the item we are donating. However, when it comes to politicians, it is never that case.
Recently, Twitter user @chairman_GLC took to his socials to share a picture of a set of marble tables and benches that are marked with wordings that says, “Sincerely from YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz”.
It is believed that the pictures are taken in Kuala Selangor, the district where the finance minister is rumoured to be interested to contest in the next general election.
Nama dia saja dah penuh meja dengan kerusi. Ikhlas sangat pic.twitter.com/QJvzXLTZQG

“His name is all over the table and benches. That’s very sincere.”
“It’s like compensating for something,” the user wrote.

The tweet has since gone viral online with many netizens sharing other pictures of the ‘sincere’ donations from ministers and politicians that were made in other places.
Netizens also poked fun at these politicians with one netizen sharing the meaning of sincerity provided by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).

Nonetheless, it wasn’t sure if this was the instruction from the politicians to put their names on the donations they made or it was the works of their respective aides.
Meanwhile, one netizen defended the politicians and said this is a normal practice by politicians to label their donations and it does not mean that the person is trying to show off.
