As we all know, RapidKL is current in the midst of improving its facilities and the train frequencies. Thus, commuters who usually stop at the LRT Pasar Seni and KLCC stations may have to look for alternatives while it upgrades its facilities.
On the night of Sunday (3 July), RapidKL took to its Facebook page to announce that it will be discontinuing the express bus services in LRT/MRT Pasar Seni and LRT KLCC stations, effective Monday (4 July).
This means that commuters who stop at both of the stations for the express buses are now expected to find alternatives to get to their destinations.
Meanwhile, this short notice has caught many Malaysians off-guard and many have taken to social media to slam the public transport company for the ‘surprise’, as well as not providing commuters with solutions, or at least suggestions on alternate routes.
“That’s just wonderful. Discontinuing tomorrow and they’re only informing the people tonight. It’ll be chaotic tomorrow,” a netizen said.

“It’s so stressful to live in Malaysia,” another netizen said.
The bus routes were initially introduced as a temporary measure about 2 weeks ago to tackle the issue of congestion at LRT stations during peak hours.
From 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm, commuters were able to hitch a ride for free from KLCC to the Wangsa Maju station and from Pasar Seni to LRT Universiti, with a 15-minute frequency.

Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the issue of congestion caused by low LRT train frequencies has been resolved as RapidKL did not give any official explanation as to why the service is being discontinued.
As of now, the public is entitled to free rides on all RapidKL services for 30 days which started since 16 June.
