A house in Pokok Assam, Perak was filled with so much trash that the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) had to mobilise 3 lorries along with a tractor and a bulldozer to clean it!
Taking the incident to Facebook, MPT shared that the clean-up operation involved staff cleaning up the bulk of the garbage surrounding the home with the help of their machinery.
“MPT carries out cleaning work at the premise of a house full of garbage in Taman Tupai Mas. After the premises owner who lived in a house full of rubbish had gone viral, the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) has carried out a cleaning operation of the house this morning.” the post reads.
“The cleaning work started as early as 8:30 am and ended at 11:00 am, assisted by a bulldozer as well as 3 lorries and a tractor, used to clean the garbage pile from the premises. The owner of the premises is an elderly man who lives alone.”
Meanwhile, MPT also took the opportunity to remind the public not to store trash even though it is within the confinement of their home.
“Even though the pile of controlled solid waste which doesn’t have MPT’s approval is stored within your home grounds, it can still be recognised as an offense in terms of nuisance.”
“Individuals who intentionally do so may be prosecuted under Section 75 (1) and (2) of the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171) and if convicted of the offence to a fine not exceeding one thousand Ringgit or an imprisonment term of not more than six months or both,” MPT explained.
In the comment section, netizens praised the municipal council for its good deed.
“Well done MPT, keep it up,” commented a netizen.
“Majlis Perbandaran Taiping is the best,” said another netizen.
Nonetheless, let not just keep our neighbourhoods clean, but also our home compounds.
