A teenage girl sustained an injury to her eyebrow after she was stabbed by someone with a car key. Videos of the incident have also gone viral on social media.
The video footage showed 2 women dressed in white and black respectively, engaging in a fight before being separated by a man.
According to Sinar Harian, Kuala Muda police chief, ACP Zaidy Che’ Hasan said incident took place around 6.22 pm on Sunday (19 June) near a toy stall at Pantai Merdeka, Kota Kuala Muda, Sungai Petani.
Zaidy said the investigation found that the victim was at her sister’s stall before being attacked by the suspect.
“There were quarrels and scuffles between the two before passers-by broke the fight.”
“Following that, the victim who suffered an eyebrow injury from being struck by the car key has made a police report regarding the incident,” he said.
Zaidy added that the investigation also found that the incident was said to have been caused by the suspect being unhappy with the victim’s family regarding business matters.
“However, further investigation is still underway, and the victim has already received treatment in the hospital,” he said.
He said the perpetrator, a 29-year-old woman, who works as a factory operator, was arrested after the police received a report about the incident from the 18-year-old victim on the same day.
The incident must be traumatising for the victim. Nonetheless, we hope the girls can reconcile and sort out the matter in peace.
