Everybody has their own problems, including those who are wealthy and rich.

Recently, TikTok user @azrulikram28 complained about his ‘sorrowful’ past of having RM200 a week as pocket money during his days in secondary school. He also said the allowance would not be live on and left him depressed.

“Believe me, I’ve been through something as bad as this. I’m depressed. I need time to heal.” he wrote.

The complaint unexpectedly went viral on social media, sparking discussions of allowances most people get in school, as well as netizens urging him to be grateful.

Many netizens claimed that today’s teenagers are spoiled and often spend extravagantly, in addition to not knowing how to save.

Netizens also suggested that teenagers be given a tight budget to be given a chance to learn helpful life lessons.

Nonetheless, there is no fixed amount in school allowances and it all depends on factors such as parental income, school location, the lifestyle of the student and how much parents were prepared to give their child.

Some netizens also pointed out that canteen food had indeed gotten more expensive and it makes sense that parents give their children more allowances.

He added that he is 26 years old now and has graduated from tertiary education with a degree. He is also surviving on his own feet too.
