Malaysian cosmetics entrepreneur Ahmad Iqbal offers to ‘replace’ Justin Bieber for his cancelled concert, gets slammed by netizens instead

Cosmetics mogul Datuk Seri Vida’s ex-fiancee Ahmad Iqbal Zulkefli has once again come under the limelight after he left a comment on Facebook for ‘wanting to replace Justin Bieber’ to perform at his upcoming October concert.

On Saturday (11 June), Justin Bieber revealed that he is suffering from a sudden contraction of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome which left him with partial facial paralysis. Unfortunately, he had to cancel his upcoming October concert due to this.

The news came in as a shock for fans worldwide and Malaysia.

Nonetheless, the controversial cosmetics entrepreneur and singer Ahmad Iqbal was quick to offer himself to fill in the vacancy.

In a Facebook comment, he shares his aspirations of taking over Bieber’s Malaysian concert. “It’s okay, I can replace it. What song do you want to hear? I’ll write it fast, don’t want to share the list at the last minute. ” Iqbal wrote.

However, his comments have sparked outrage among Bieber fans and Malaysians as they criticised him for having poor taste.

“I’m afraid no one will come to Iqbal’s concert.” commented a netizen.

“Confidence is important, but self-awareness is also important.” said another netizen.

In a follow-up comment, Iqbal said he would only come if he was paid a little higher as he needed to buy a pen to sign his fans’ autographs.

Last year, Iqbal became the subject of controversy when he released his first single Hujan, supposedly about his split with Vida. The couple were set to get married in December but cancelled their plans in October.

Vida had criticised Iqbal’s video for spreading lies about her and attempting to gain sympathy from the public.
