While work and life are moving at a fast pace in this modern era, you should not forget about your well-being. Sometimes, daydreaming could help you relax your mind and slow down that hectic lifestyle of yours too.

However, if you are good at daydreaming, here’s your chance to participate in this competition which is named Space Out and Race it all Out (Pertandingan Tanpa Buat Apa-Apa)!

Yes, you read it correctly! This competition literarily allows you to do nothing but stare into space aimlessly.

According to a Facebook post, the competition was organised by Hin Market and Georgetown Festival and it aims to encourage people to step back, relax and take things one step at a time.

“If you have what it takes to be the best at doing absolutely nothing, join the first in Penang – Space Out Competition and win yourself a “One-Night Stay for TWO at Angsana Hotel, Teluk Bahang”,” the post reads.

The competition is set to be held on 9 July at Hin Bus Depot, Penang. There’s also a participation fee of RM5, but the registration is now closed due to the overwhelming response from the public.

Nonetheless, netizens were amused with this out-of-the-ordinary competition and many were quick to jump into the comment section to call out their friends who loved to daydream, claiming that they will emerge as the champion in this competition.

Some curious netizens also asked how the competition will actually work, where a netizen explained that participants must do nothing throughout the competition and that they cannot fall asleep too.

This may be the first time you hear about this competition but it was created for a reason.

According to South Korean visual artist Woops Yang, she feels that in such a busy world, slowing down and doing nothing was difficult. After all, people would feel anxious as they weren’t being productive.

Thus, she created a space where people could space out together.
