Malaysians have a lot of complaints when it comes to the public transport system and city planning. However, it seems that the authorities never fail to surprise us with even more ridiculous designs.

Recently, Twitter user @fazleyff took to the social media platform to share the surprise he got while trying to get to the Tasik Kelana Jaya public park on foot.

In the thread, he said he had stopped at the bus station across the street from the park and had to cross the Federal Highway using a pedestrian bridge. However, he later found that the entrance leading into the park was blocked by a metal fence.

Later on, he walked further down the road and found another unconventional entrance into the park, which was also blocked by a metal fence.

Nonetheless, he managed to squeeze his way through the small gap between the fence and the walkway, which he pointed out the poor workmanship as there were gaps between the fences and the gate, which defeats the purpose of keeping people out of the area.

The entrances that Fazley arrived at are not the main entrances and there are a couple of ways to enter the park. However, there isn’t proper signage or directions and this makes it difficult for those unfamiliar with the area.

Nonetheless, netizens cracked jokes about the absurdity of the infrastructure.

“Playing SimCity but forgot to add a door for the fence.” a netizen said.

Some even tagged the PJ City Council and the Selangor Chief Minister Amirudin Shari’s official Twitter accounts to bring the matter to their attention.

Meanwhile, some locals explained that the fences were installed a few years ago after a spate of snatch thefts. Those fences were further locked up during the MCO period to maintain a single entrance and exit.
