Watch: Selfish driver casually blocks ambulance, sparks an outrage online

We are always thought to drive considerately and give way to emergency vehicles to pass first. For example, ambulances or police cars.

Recently, a shocking viral video showing a white Honda car driver casually blocking an ambulance on the road went circulating on social media.

In the video, the driver can be seen refusing to move away despite the ambulance has its siren and lights on. What’s more about this is that the car was on the fast lane of the highway.

Frustrated with this incident, the ambulance driver took it to Facebook to call out the selfish driver.

Meanwhile, netizens share the same sentiment and criticised the driver for deliberately blocking an ambulance’s journey to save lives. Some demanded the police to arrest the driver.

They said this is no trivial matter as it involves human lives.

Some sarcastically commented that the driver had his car modified with soundproof so the he could not hear the siren.

The incident also caught the Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham’s attention as he condemns the driver on his Facebook account.

“Astaghfirullah, there are still drivers who are selfish to the purpose of not giving way to the ambulance even though the ambulance siren has long been sounded behind this car,” he said.

In response to a comment that requested the Health DG to take enforcement action on the driver, Dr Noor Hisham said, “As for this case enforcement is one which is under the police but education is another, hence I reposted this to create public awareness and education. Please help us to save lives.”

We genuinely hope that this video will serves as a lesson to all of us to allow ambulances and emergency vehicles pass to rush and save lives.
