Social NewsSelangor Sultan got himself a new painting of Malaysia's Parliament, but all...

The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has recently bought a painting of our Malaysian Parliament and it was announced on the Selangor Royal Office’s Twitter.

However, after taking a closer inspection, one will notice that all the MPs in the painting are depicted as apes and frogs.

Apart from that, the painting also featured a realistic scene of the Parliament, with who appears to be Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun, also known as Art Harun, the 10th Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat.

Meanwhile, in the seats, there are various species of apes and frogs, which is believed to be an allusion to the behaviour of certain MPs who “jump” political parties, commonly referred to as a “frog”.

The official tweet said the painting caught the attention of the Sultan. It also states that the Sultan intends to put the painting up for auction with all proceeds going to charity.

Netizens, in general, agreed with the Sultan and said that the painting was quite an accurate depiction of the Parliament.

“Looks like Tuanku also feels that’s lots on monkey business going on in there.” a netizen commented.

Apart from the apes and frogs, some pointed out that one animal was missing in the painting and it is pigs.

As of now, the artist of the painting has not yet been revealed.

While many take this as a joke, it actually reflects how Malaysians viewed their politicians and the confidence level we have in our leaders.

Many of us believed that politicians are more interested in jostling for power than to implement policies that are beneficial to Malaysians.
